Language options in Deponia: The Complete Journey

I recently bought a retail copy of Deponia: The Complete Journey directly from Germany. However, after installing it, I was surprised to see there was no means to change the language to Italian. A quick search on Google revealed that Deponia does, in fact, have an Italian voice-over and subtitles, however the game (or the Steam version of it at least) needs to be updated in order to download the necessary files. I installed patch 3.1 and 3.2 from the official website but that didn't do it. Is there a way to play the game in my native language or am I hopeless?

Hello,

the Complete Journey Retail version should at least be able to switch to English, but I'm sorry to say that patching the Retail version will not add additional languages. So, in order to play in Italian, you would need to purchase the Steam version.
